Back in the saddle...

Okay, after computor crashes, writers block, blog inactivity, etc..., we are back in action! For those tracking with us, we've been looking at the Cross of Christ for the last four weeks leading up to Easter. Rather than an excersize in gore and melodrama, there is something very therapeutic in meditating deeply on the cross. Consider some thoughts from the writers of the New Testament:

Paul: Galatians 6:14 "But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."

Peter: 1 Peter 2:24 "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed."

John: Rev. 1:5-6 "To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."

Every good thing we have flows from the cross, because without the cross we would deserve nothing but wrath and condemnation! So meditate deeply on the cross, especially this week. And when Easter comes, don't forget the cross - for our risen saviour still bears the scars of his love for us!
